From 5th to 7th February a traditional tourism fair „Balttour 2010” will take place, and as usual it will gladly welcome inhabitants and tourism professionals from Latvia, as well as from other European countries. Also this year Jūrmala will participate with its own stand ands will offer information about leisure time activities and recovery opportunities, provide tourism information materials, such as new brochure “Jūrmala 2010” and brochures of Jurmala’s places of tourist accommodations, information about events this year, about active recreation etc.

An 18 sq.m. stand will be shared by Jūrmala Tourism information centre, hotels “Elīna” and “Dzintara viesnīca”, resort hotel “Pegasa Pils”, hostel “Riga Beach hostel”, as well as resort rehabilitation centres “Jaunķemeri” and “Belorusija”.

Resort hotels “Jūrmala SPA” and “Baltic Beach Hotel” will be available in Latvia’s’ Hotels and Restaurant Association’s stand. Resort hotels will invite the visitors to take care about their health and try out different medical treatments, as well as buy special offer packages for very attractive prices.

Also this year different activities will take place in Jūrmala’s stand. In cooperation with Jūrmala city museum, a surprise offer will be available to visitors: they will be welcome to take a photograph of themselves in Jūrmala’s stand by the antique swimming suits from a collection of Jūrmala City museum, fill the information form, and later receive this photo in e-mail. After receiving e-mail, every participant will get special discounts in Jūrmala’s tourism enterprises on presenting his photo.

We invite you to visit stand presentations – on Friday, 5th February at four o‘clock, Saturday and Sunday at one o’clock. It will be possible to try medical mineral waters from Jūrmala that are used in medical programmes of resort rehabilitation centers “Jaunķemeri” and “Sanatorija Belorusija”, enjoy the performance of Jūrmala culture centre’s dance studio “BG deju studija”, taste oxygen cocktail offered by SIA “Gilar”, as well as practice Nordic Walking.

Only during the tourism exhibition Jūrmala’s tourism enterprises only will offer special prices for accommodation, resort treatments and SPA starting from even 6,-LVL per person. This could serve as a very nice present for the beloved one on a Valentine’s Day.

“The development of tourism and resort is the most important priority of economical development of Jūrmala, and it is important to support entrepreneurs working in tourism and resort spheres. Tourists from Latvia that make up to 30% from all tourists coming to Jūrmala, is a very relevant tourism market,” comments Larisa Loskutova, 1st Deputy Chairman of Jūrmala City council.
