Number of airBaltic passengers grows by 28% at its Riga base in August, highest ever load factor

During the eight months of 2009, airBaltic transported a total of 1,800,595 passengers, some 6% more than during the same period in 2008, when the total number of passengers was 1,696,826.
In August, airBaltic operated 4,392 flights, or 4% fewer than the 4,596 flights of August 2008. Between January and the end of August, the airline operated 29,917 flights in all.
The airline achieved the highest passenger load factor in its history of 77% for the month of August 2009. This was 5% points more than in August 2008; and during the eight months of 2009 airline’s passenger load factor was at a level of 68%, or 6% points more than during the same period in 2008.
The 15-minute flight punctuality indicator for airBaltic was at a level of 90.8% in August 2009. This means that almost 91 of every 100 airBaltic flights in August departed at the planned time or with a delay of no more than 15 minutes.
