Ainars Slesers presents coat of arms of port of Riga to captain
The vessel Birka Paradise, which last week harboured at the port of Riga for the first time, brought 1,500 tourists from Sweden. The vice mayor of Riga, Ainars Slesers, who within the framework of the Riga mayor pre-election campaign promised to develop tourism in the capital of Latvia, visited the Birka Paradise to present the coat of arms of the port of Riga to the vessel’s captain. It is planned that the Birka Paradise will visit Latvia repeatedly this year. It is the second vessel that Birka Cruises operates in the 24-hour cruise market from Stockholm to Mariehamn on the Aland Islands. The most interesting feature of the ship is her top deck, which can be closed by a sliding glass roof.
