Skyways due to launch Vilnius flights from June 2

LOT promises more frequencies; Brussels connection profitable

If the words of Tomas Vaisvila, general director of Vilnius International Airport, are to be believed, the airport will recover from its six months of isolation next month. The Swedish airline Skyways is to launch flights between Vilnius to Amsterdam, Stockholm, Copenhagen and Berlin from June 2 – this week Skyways representatives are again due in Lithuania – while the Polish airline LOT intends to operate additional frequencies to Warsaw from June 7. Meanwhile, the direct flights to Brussels launched by Brussels Airlines have apparently proved profitable as planes have been on average 75 percent full. Finally, Vaisvila says the airport has received an offer from Star Team Group, the airline being launched by Martynas Laivys et al.
