Lithuania concludes that "image" cash was wasted 2009-04-17
EUR 18.26 million spent but Lithuania still has no image
The Lithuanian National Audit Office has concluded that a total of LTL 63 million (EUR 18.26 million) has been wasted in unfulfilled promises to use the money to create an “image” for Lithuania. The money began to haemorrhage when the Office of the Government of Lithuania ordered an image formation strategy back in 2005. A sum of LTL 800,000 was paid for a strategy to be prepared by an international consortium. The government signed a deed of assignment with the consortium, but no strategy has yet been submitted.
