Madonna to attract 30,000 tourists to Tallinn2009-04-16
Accommodation capacity barely has room for half this number
Revenues from tourism worldwide grew by 6 percent last year. In Estonia they increased by 9.3 percent to EEK 17.6 billion (EUR 1.12 billion) with 1.97 million overnights (up 3.7 percent). A series of major events will bring visitors this coming summer, for example an estimated 30,000 people from the ‘near abroad’ to Madonna’s concert in Tallinn in August. As the city has enough accommodation to host barely half this number, many fans will only be able to stay in Estonia for one day.
