Greenhouses built for “most successful new tourism product”
Colours are blossoming in Vecgulbene. Greenhouses for growing plants and flowers have been built in an effort to attract more tourists to the estate, whose 19th century Red Castle and its surrounding gardens were built by Baron Heinrich von Wolf for his beloved wife Marisa. Vecgulbene has become a popular attraction in the Latvian region of Vidzeme since it won the title Most Successful New Tourism Product in 2008 from the Latvian State Tourism Development Agency.
