Latvian made 3.5 million journeys in 2008, most of which covered a day

According to statistics, Latvians made 3,493,200 journeys in 2008, 2,710,400 of which were one-day journeys and 782,800 journeys with overnight stays. In comparison with 2007, the number of journeys being taken in the winter months increased. Those who did not travel anywhere mentioned financial difficulties as being the main obstacles to travel.
