Latvian PM finds visit to Lithuania dominated by airline’s decision
During his visit to Lithuania on April 8, Latvian Prime Minister Valdis Dombrovskis found that he had to provide explanations about airBaltic’s recent actions. An email that had been sent to travel agencies by Oliver Lubich, an airBaltic representative in Germany, Austria and Switzerland, criticized the economic situation in Lithuania, saying that this was the reason for cancelling so many routes from the airline’s former base in Vilnius. This was the second embarrassing blow delivered by the airline in the last few days, Lietuvos Rytas writes, the first being when it decided to cancel flights from Vilnius to Milan, Munich and Stockholm.
