Lithuanians grow impatient for new air routes2009-04-14
Growing evidence of “impotence” of Lithuanian authorities
The decision of airBaltic to cancel the vast majority of its direct flights from Vilnius shows the impotence of the Ministry of Transport and Vilnius Airport, Verslo Zinios writes. Although the ministry and the airport’s management keep claiming that they "have done their homework", they are still unable to offer new routes. They merely advise people to be patient and have confidence in Lithuanian negotiating abilities. Transport Minister Eligijus Masiulis reassures that talks on introducing a new national carrier will be completed soon and the results will then be revealed to the public. The minister keeps making promises like these and yet there are still no results.
