Lithuanian authorities rush to fill aviation vacuum

2009-01-23

With flyLAL-Lithuanian Airlines ceasing operations, the country's aviation system has started to rattle. Vilnius International Airport and the Ministry of Transport and Communications are reportedly rushing to look for ways to fill a gaping hole and have even started speaking about possible concessions for carriers that could take flyLAL's place. KLM, LOT, SAS, Brussels Airlines and Estonian Airlines are being mentioned as possible candidates to take flyLAL's place.
