Vilnius misses golden years of popularity2009-01-20
Complaining not so long ago about Vilnius being crowded with foreigners especially at the weekend, entertainment organizers now miss the times when visitors were here spending lots of money. The city’s nightclubs and cafés are suffering from the smaller tourist numbers. The only restaurants that seem to be doing well are located in shopping centres out in the suburbs. Marina Minkeviciene, director of The Dubliner, the only Irish pub in Vilnius, says that tourists constituted approximately one third of the pub's clients.
