flyLAL repays part of debt to airport 2009-01-09
Deep in financial difficulties, writes Lietuvos Rytas, flyLAL-Lithuanian Airlines repaid part of its debt to Vilnius International Airport on January 7, ensuring that its aircraft could continue to take off and land in Vilnius for the time being. The airline has been searching for foreign investors for some time. SAS plans to launch flights to Lithuania, but does not intend to invest in flyLAL. airBaltic had the leading market share in Vilnius in December (38,000 pax). flyLAL followed with 26,500 passengers. flyLAL Charters was third with almost 13,000.
