Professionals prepare for pan-Baltic travel trade event2009-01-08
The Latvian Tourism Development Agency is organizing the country's biggest travel trade event, Buy Latvia, Buy the Baltics 2009, taking place in Riga on February 2-6. The deadline for applications is January 23. It is the third year for the event, which is designed to promote tourism to Latvia and the Baltic states and to keep tourism professionals informed about trends and new developments. The event also provides an opportunity for professionals to meet potential partners. Among the events will be a seminar taking place at the Reval Hotel Latvia, a cultural programme for foreign tourism representatives and tourism product presentations. Applications from more than 100 companies outside the Baltics have already been received including from Russia, France, Germany, Belarus, the United Arab Emirates, Israel, Uzbekistan, the USA and Japan. There will also be a bilateral workshop on February 5. Buy Latvia, Buy the Baltics 2008 involved 178 foreign tourism companies from 22 countries.
