Vilnius Airport suddenly becomes attractive to SAS2009-01-05
As soon as rumors spread that the privately owned Lithuanian airline flyLAL might be taken over by the government, representatives of the Scandinavian airline SAS flew to Lithuania to meet Eligijus Masiulis, the country’s new minister of transport. Masiulis said after the meeting with SAS Vice President Christian Hylander and Director for Eastern Europe Jens Helmo Larsen, that SAS is considering relocating some of its flights from Riga to Vilnius. The meeting was attended also by Vytautas Kaikaris, general director of flyLAL-Lithuanian Airlines.
