Travel coupon becomes evidence in corruption case 2008-12-19
A key piece of evidence against Ivo Parbus, a Tallinn City Government official arrested on December 5 on suspicion of corruption, is an EEK 25,000 (EUR 1,600) Estravel gift coupon. Aripaev writes that the security police suspects Tonu Korts, a board member of the leading Estonian construction company Merko Ehitus, of giving Parbus the Estravel coupon in exchange for assistance in organizing planning issues. The police claim that Merko Ehitus has bribed officials for arranging the necessary planning for seven properties in Tallinn. Merko Ehitus denies the allegations.
