Farmer scores success with active tourism2008-12-15
Not everyone in the incoming tourism sector is suffering from the economic slowdown. Latvian farmer Janis Pastars, who has established a campsite and entertainment park called Labirinti, says that the park is becoming more and more popular thanks to his active recreation attractions. Pastars says that he has so far hosted many tourists from Germany, the Netherlands, Turkey, even Afghanistan. He also says that local people, especially families with children, also enjoy the entertainment park. Labirinti, located off the Via Baltica near Iecava in southern Latvia, has ball games, boat rides, a playground and special sports games for weddings and cooperates with several travel agencies.
