Ground services company pulls out of Kaunas2008-12-08
The ground handling company Baltic Ground Services is withdrawing from Kaunas Airport. According to the company, the demand for cheap flights from Kaunas is likely to go down due to the worsening economic situation, especially now that emigration has decreased. Arijandas Sliupas, Kaunas Airport’s general director, says he is not surprised by the anouncement. According to him, Baltic Ground Services belongs to the flyLAL group, and flyLAL sees no prospects in operating from Kaunas Airport in the future.
