Who will sell their shares in Estonian Air?2008-12-05
SAS’s negotiations to increase its shares in Estonian Air may just as likely end with SAS selling its shares, this Aripaev article says. Indeed, this possible outcome was mentioned by Sture Stolen, SAS’s director of investor relations, to the Swedish business newspaper Dagens Industri on December 3. SAS wants to buy the Estonian state’s 34 percent stake in Estonian Air and Estonia says it is prepared to discuss the matter. Aviation expert Anders Lidman evaluates the latter outcome more positively. "This would be an option for SAS to secure its domestic market before it is sold to a bigger enterprise or merged into one, so that this neighbouring market stays under its control," he said.
