Russian tourists get ready to party in Tallinn 2008-12-01
This Eesti Paevaleht article takes an upbeat view of incoming tourism from Russia during New Year, which many in the sector feared would slump because of the global financial crisis. However, as usual Tallinn looks likely to be the Russians’ favourite location for the coming New Year festivities as thousands of foreign visitors from Estonia’s near abroad are expected in the capital. Tour groups, who mostly come from Moscow and the nearby second city of St Petersburg, are already booking up the most popular bars and restaurants in the city centre, giving them a much-needed boost during these difficult times.
