Rent an Estonian island to yourself2008-07-03
Vahase Island near Estonia’s largest island, Saaremaa, is being rented out for a reasonable price between June and October, at EEK 1,000 (EUR 64) per person per night. Aive Vesterinen, the project manager of the real estate company Baltcott, which rents the property via its website, says that so far the company has not received any requests to rent the island. Arvi Trei, who owns half of the island, says that he’s afraid of big hordes of tourists and wants to keep visits low-key. There is a TV and radio in the simply furnished cottage on the island, but little else.
