Incoming tourism up, outgoing down in Q12008-07-01
The Statistics Department of Lithuania reports that in the first three months of this year, 537,400 tourists travelled to Lithuania, 5 percent more than Q1 2007. The number of people from Lithuania travelling abroad reached 304,000 in the same quarter of 2008, down 10.5 percent y-o-y. Outgoing tourists spent LTL 683.7 million (EUR 198 million) during the period, or 8.8 percent less than in January-March 2007.
