airBaltic Introduces Web Check-in for Flights From Copenhagen, Oslo and Stockholm2008-06-19
Jānis Vanags, Vice President Corporate Communications, airBaltic: “We’re working very hard on making sure that travelling for our passengers is as convenient as possible. Now there are nine cities in which people can check in for their airBaltic flights online, and we are going to increase the number of such cities in a targeted way. This is particularly convenient in the summer, when the number of travellers increases. Passengers can now avoid having to stand in long queues before departure at the check-in counter.”
Web check-in has been available for airBaltic flights since August 1, 2007. The Web check-in services are very convenient, allowing passengers to save time by checking in, selecting their seat and printing out their boarding pass – all on the Internet.
Internet check-in is possible from noon on the day preceding the relevant flight. It ends two hours before the planned departure time. Web check-in can be used for all types of tickets – those bought from airBaltic, those bought from travel agencies, and those bought on the Internet at www.airbaltic.lv.
Passengers who have used Web check-in can leave their baggage at a dedicated counter when arriving at the airport. At the Riga airport, this is between the business class and economy class check-in counters. Passengers who only have carry-on baggage may go directly to the security inspection and then on to their flight. Baggage will not be accepted later than 30 minutes before departure, and passengers must arrive at the gate no later than 20 minutes before the flight.
Web check-in is available at www.airbaltic.lv. More information about the service is available there, as well.
