Growing fuel prices impact ticket price

2008-06-09

As aviation fuel prices continue to surge, the main players in the Lithuanian airline market have announced higher ticket prices starting in October. From October 1, airBaltic plans a slight increase in fuel surcharges, while flyLAL intends to raise ticket prices by between LTL 10 and LTL 50 (EUR 3-15). Aviation experts across Europe have warned that airlines following the low-cost model must find new ways of reducing costs even further or be doomed to bankruptcy, if oil prices remain so high.
