New Hotel Dorpat conference centre opens2008-05-30
The brand new conference centre at the Hotel Dorpat in Tartu has thrown itself into daily operations, although a large part of the cavernous Tasku complex, as it is called, is still occupied by construction workers. The centre has 10 conference rooms of different sizes. There are 700 seats in the centre, but Kersti Seli, a member of the Dorpat’s board, said that the number of people that could participate in events will depend on the placement of chairs in the hall. After the completion of a five-hall cinema complex, which shares a floor with the conference centre, capacity will increase to as much as 1,300. The entire Tasku complex should be completed in August.
