Countryside tourism is one of Lithuania’s most rapidly growing business sectors, according to this article. The current accommodation capacity in Lithuania’s rural tourism sector is already reaching close to 10,000 beds. However, Irena Sirusiene-Lamanauskiene, president of the Lithuanian Association of Rural Tourism, fears that the implementation of the EU support programme for 2007-2013 could result in market saturation and that the weaker players will be forced to withdraw.
