Sports arena buys hotel for athletes 2008-05-21
The privately owned arena Vidzeme Olympic Centre bought the Latvian town’s Hotel Naktsmajas for LVL 1.2 million (EUR 1.7 million) on May 1. The new owners plan to use the hotel mainly for rooming athletes and are considering opportunities for new services. The 3-star hotel currently has 39 rooms with 117 beds. The town’s sports medical centre may be established in the building in future. A football field, a swimming pool and a shopping centre are also planned near the Naktsmajas and the number of guests could certainly grow.
