Accommodation establishments say, as if with one voice, that the number of domestic tourists has quickly shrivelled up. In comparison to previous years, Estonian companies’ cancellations for summer retreats has been keenly felt, resulting in difficulties for tourism-related enterprises. However, according to Tonu Magi, head of the Arbavere holiday centre in Laane-Virumaa, while interest from state authorities has fallen, small companies are still expressing interest. “Our centre has been discovered by Latvians and this will partially compensate for the decline locally,” he said.
