Hard times for rural tourism companies2008-04-28
Asnate Ziemele, president of the Latvian rural tourism association Lauku Celotajs, thinks that there could be a serious crisis in the countryside. Increasing prices and interest rates are badly affecting farmers and the owners of rural tourism accommodation. However, there are destinations that are still doing well, for example the Salenieki farm in the Daugavpils District, which mines the niche of weddings and parties.
