Climate change favours tourism growth in Baltics2008-04-24
Climate change will lessen the attractiveness of traditional holiday regions forever, but Estonia could benefit from these misfortunes according to analysis by Deutsche Bank Research. The effects of climate change on tourism potential in countries all over the world was measured in the research taking a perspective of the year 2030. Only Denmark, the Benelux countries and Germany would be the countries in Europe to witness stronger positive effects than Estonia. The Baltic states, currently mostly characterised by folk culture and rural tourism, will start attracting more beach tourists as well, says the research.
