Tallinn TV Tower may reopen in future2008-04-24
State officials and Levira, the company that maintains Tallinn’s Television Tower, have discussed options on how it may be possible to reopen the tower as a tourist attraction. It was closed down last winter due to worries over safety standards. Ooptions on how standards could be complied with and how could funds be found to do it are the issues that must be focussed on. The unique restaurant at a height of 170 m was closed since, according to a statement issued by the North Estonian Rescue Centre, the TV tower needs an additional staircase as a safe evacuation path.
