Head of Swissotel comments on Tallinn market2008-04-18
Meinhard Huck, managing director of the Zurich-based chain Swissotel Hotels & Resorts, says that the number of tourists in Tallinn has fallen unexpectedly and so it is not likely that there will be any new hotels opening in the market any time soon. According to the Estonian Statistical Board, however, the market is showing signs of growing again. Huck does not believe that small hotels will have to start closing down, but he does not think that any new major hotels are coming. The Swissotel is a 5-star hotel with 239 rooms in the centre of Tallinn, next to the Stockmann department store.
