Anyksciai and Ignalina will mark their first anniversary as resort towns this summer. A 17,000 sq m spa complex with hotels that can accommodate up to 300 people will open in Anyksciai at the beginning of 2010. Ignalina will open a business and tourism information centre in the summer. Last year, over 530,000 tourists visited the region of Ignalina. Tourism development in the towns has already encouraged a number of small investors to choose potentially profitable plots of land for future investment.
