Yuriy Zudov, president of the Latvian Association of Hotels and Restaurants, says that competition among Latvian hotels has become intense. The number of new hotel openings is increasing faster than the number of tourists. The average occupancy rate of Latvian hotels has fallen. Hotels now differ greatly by their quality and prices. Today there are more than 400 hotels in Latvia.
