Estonia embarks on major publicity campaign2008-02-18
Enterprise Estonia is organising a public tender to find a partner for a EEK 150 million (EUR 26.5 million) marketing campaign meant to introduce Estonia as “the best tourism destination in Europe”. Over the next two-and-a-half years the state will spend this amount on marketing campaigns in 16 countries. Most of the emphasis will be put on attracting tourists from Finland, Germany, Russia and Sweden. The reason behind the move is the declining numbers of tourists in Estonia and the fact that the country, like its Baltic neighbours, is virtually unknown abroad. Estonia will be promoted as a eco-tourism, city break, shopping destination and country of elegant manor houses. To participate in the tender, companies should have branches or partners in all target countries.
