Today, Latvia’s national airline, airBaltic, will start operations on the first of five direct routes from Vilnius. The first flight from Vilnius will be offered to Paris on December 18, to Munich – on December 19, to Berlin – December 21, to Amsterdam on January 4, and to Rome on January 11, 2010.
Riga. The Latvian national airline airBaltic will supplement its routes during the summer season of 2010 by adding flights from Riga to three new destinations – Belgrade in Serbia, Madrid in Spain, and Vaasa in Finland. Flights to Belgrade will begin on May 5, to Madrid on June 2, and to Vaasa on March 29. The new routes will offer convenient transit connections via Riga to and from more than 60 final destinations in Western Europe, the CIS and the Mediterranean region.
Riga. The Latvian national airline airBaltic has concluded one-year agreements with the governments of Austria and Switzerland on the provision of flights for government-sector employees to and from more than 60 destinations in the airline’s extensive network of routes. The agreements include the possibility of extending them once they expire.

Riga International Airport for the first time in its history has entered the top 100 ranking of the world’s airports by international flight frequencies per week unveiled by „OAG Aviation Solutions” (OAG) – the international organization of aviation market research and analysis.
Riga – Latvian airline airBaltic carried overall 298,610 passengers in August 2009 (from Riga and Vilnius), representing 1% more than in the same month in 2008, when airBaltic transported 294,354 passengers. In August of this year, the number of passengers at the base of airBaltic in Riga has increased by 28% compared to the same period last year.
